Hybrid: Stopford House and homeworking

Your Role 

Are you passionate about tackling climate change? Stockport Council’s Climate Action Now (CAN) team is looking for a proactive, motivated and organised individual to join our dynamic team. You will support projects across the CAN work programme with project monitoring, preparing communications and reporting. You will particularly support the programme manager with delivery of the ‘climate-friendly borough’ strand. You will get involved with all aspects of preparing and delivering our climate-friendly borough engagement events; including taking an active role in youth climate debates, business forums, community networks and our annual CAN summit.

About You

The ideal candidate will be passionate about the subject area and will be eager to learn and develop within the role. You will be organised and thorough, have excellent written and spoken English, and be skilled at managing competing demands on your time across multiple projects. You will be able to work flexibly and be adaptable to change. You will work proactively, show initiative and will bring a can-do attitude to the role. The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a small team that is ambitious about affecting positive change both within the council and across Stockport.
