Job Title:            English Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Location:            Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall

Salary:         up to £31,000 per annum

Hours:                37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday

Contract:       Fixed Term, Term Time only

We are looking for an English Teacher - Maternity Cover to join our team at Belmont School.  

About the role

We are looking for an experienced English Teacher to join our fantastic team at Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall. As an English Teacher, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupils’s achievement and ability to develop.

The teacher is responsible for high quality teaching to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum. The ideal candidate will successfully set a vision and targets for pupil success and be confident in using their knowledge and expertise to monitor progress, give regular feedback and encouraging our young people to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.

When it comes to looking after our pupils, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Teacher, who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

Whilst previous experience of working in a specialist environment would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pupils presenting challenging behaviour.

Educated to Qualified Teacher Status and Degree in English, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every pupil to reach their potential.

Belmont Secondary is an independent, specialist day school for boys 11 to 18, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs. Our dedicated team, work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

We pride ourselves in steering pupils in the right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them both academically and socially to encourage them to take pride in their achievements.
