Computer Science Teacher Job Summary:
As a Computer Science Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of tech-savvy professionals. Whether you're teaching high school or post-secondary students, your expertise will empower them to navigate the digital landscape with confidence.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Delivery:
- Develop and teach computer science courses tailored to the specific educational level (high school or post-secondary).
- Cover a range of topics, including programming languages, algorithms, data structures, software development, and computer hardware.
- Create engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards, ensuring students grasp fundamental concepts.
Student Engagement and Support:
- Evaluate and assess students' comprehension and mastery of computer science principles.
- Provide individualised attention to students who need extra support.
- Foster a positive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore and experiment.
Lab Management:
- Assist in managing and maintaining the school's computer lab.
- Collaborate with department staff to ensure the lab remains accessible during the day .
- Troubleshoot technical issues and keep the lab equipment up-to-date.
Research and Innovation:
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to discuss research opportunities.
- Contribute to groundbreaking research in computer science, whether through practical applications or pedagogical advancements.
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Expertise: Profound understanding of computer hardware and software, gained through academic studies and professional experience.
