About the role: 

We are looking to recruit a permanent, full-time Accounts Assistant based in Manchester. This is an accounts payable and credit control position that will assist with the operation and maintenance of creditor and debtor ledgers for the Novacyt Group. This role will involve liaising directly with suppliers, customers and staff across the Group so will require strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be a natural problem solver, who shows initiative and will be flexible and proactive in their approach to the job.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Process invoices and resolve queries in a timely manner.
• Purchase order processing and 3-way matching.
• Invoice and receipt allocations.
• Carry out regular supplier reconciliations and maintain a clean creditors ledger.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Promptly respond to supplier enquiries and provide information as and when required.
• Report to the Group Accounts Payable Manager and provide feedback on the status of supplier accounts at regular supplier review meetings.
• Assist with the preparation of suggested payment lists for weekly payment runs.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly staff expense claims.
• Assist with the processing of monthly credit card reconciliation.
• Review GRNI position and work with the Purchasing team to resolve issues with purchase orders.
• Organise and maintain the Accounts department e-mail inboxes.
• Other ad hoc tasks as required to support the Group Accounts Payable Manager.
• Assist the Group Credit Controller to support the Group Credit Control function.
• Other ad hoc tasks to support the Group Credit Controller, including maintaining credit limits and performing credit checks.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

• Part qualified preferred, AAT minimum
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in AP and AR similar roles
• Cashbook/bank reconciliation experience would be an advantage
• Good Excel and Microsoft Office 365 skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience of Sage 200 and NetSuite preferred
