Are you a high achiever with an interest in Haematology/Oncology and proven management and leadership experience at AFC Band 6 or equivalent?

An exciting opportunity to work as a Clinical Nurse specialist at AFC Band 7 with the Haematology team has arisen.

The successful candidate will be part of an experienced team that covers all three hospitals at UHMBT. They will work across the bay covering all three hospital sites as required.

Full training for Bone Marrow Biopsy taking and Nurse led clinics will be given and you will have a period of supernumerary practice until you are ready to work independently- this will depend on previous experience.

The successful candidate will also be supported to obtain a Nurse Prescriber qualification, when they have completed a minimum term in the role.

Main duties of the job

Your role will include triage and managing urgent requests from clinicians, you will arrange treatments and follow up results and act on them. You will perform urgently requested Bone Marrow Biopsies. You will lead your own patient case load and have nominated nurse led clinic(s).

Working for our organisation

We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
