Job description
RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) is the interface between the RWE Group’s operating companies and global wholesale markets for energy and energy-related raw materials and is a leading European energy trading house.
We as “Central Services” Team are positioned within RWEST IT with our team members located across Essen (Germany) and Swindon (UK).
We are heading towards DevOps transformation journey with forming different SQUADS within the team. As a central team our work horizon ensures different applications support, analysing systems (ETRM , RISK etc), researches problems, maintenance, coordination, cloud native and development of Inhouse and external application tools in energy market. We offer our support to different IT Embedded teams and also Business users / Traders to ensure smooth running of energy trading systems.
Responsibilities
- Provides operations support by analysing systems, researching problems and maintenance / coordination of different applications
- Continuous improvements of processes through e.g. innovative ideas, enhance automations / monitoring with platforms like Elastic (Kibana), RPA etc.
- Root cause analysis for fixing problems permanently by debugging the components
- Working with Openlink - ENDUR and ensuring the end of day data / workflows management
- Gather specific requirements from business and embedded IT teams to provide solutions via working in incidents and service requests
- Coordination and work closely with business and IT stakeholders in quick issue resolutions in the context of an Incident Management, Problem Management, maintenance patching activities and configurations / User Management
- Work in a DevOps model with development teams and business stakeholders - to develop enhancements and coordination
- Provide Initial Bug Fixes, Change Requests and enhancements for different applications
- Readiness in shift rotations with 24*7 oncall and occasional travel required
Your powerful skills
- Basic knowledge in ETRM domain and experience in ENDUR across different modules like Trading Manager, Market Manager etc.
- Experience working with functionalities of APM, Simulations, EOD batch / risk reports or trade life cycle
- Experience in at least one scripting (powershell, python) and database (ORACLE, MS SQL, MongoDB, Postgres or Snowflake) language
- CI / CD deployment pipeline involving Azure DevOps, Team City, Git, Jenkins etc.
- Ability to work well under pressure and Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability with good analytical problem solving skills and soft skills to communicate and collaborate with various teams
- Basic knowledge in customer support, requirements analysis and alignment with existing systems
- Interest in gaining IT Operations best practises and DevOps
Advantageous, but not a must
- Functional and business knowledge in Endur across Front Office, Risk and Back office in the areas of Deal modelling and structure
- Knowledge in AVS / JVS scripting and any open component development
- Automating of existing processes with creating of dashboards in any monitoring tools via Elastic (Kibana), Phython etc.
