Job description
Role Purpose
The Senior Project Manager will manage and be responsible for the successful delivery of the Civic Campus in line with corporate objectives, and government legalisation. They will assume a proactive role, working with the project team to deliver high quality and value for money projects using effective project management techniques, to deliver on council priorities and regeneration and property-related objectives.
Responsiblities
To provide project management and programme management support services, such as quality assurance, as and when required for other Council delivery projects and programmes.
To lead on construction related project delivery on the new build Contract B, and town Hall refurbishment project Contract A.
To lead partnerships across and outside the council to deliver major construction related projects
To use commercial acumen, experience, creativity and negotiation skills to optimise project outcomes for the Council.
To develop client briefs, procuring design, consultants and contractors necessary to deliver programmes within time, cost and quality targets. To manage contracted partners and monitor financial progress against agreed budgets.
To liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders, including occupiers, service users and wider community, to ensure appropriate engagement and consultation
To deal with Member/MP enquiries, Freedom of Information requests, end user complaints and other enquiries are dealt with effectively, ensuring a comprehensive response and that where necessary providers take the appropriate remedial action.
RequirementsMust have experience working in a housing association or council to be considered
Knowledge and understanding of the wide range of procurement methods within construction.
A broad knowledge of cost planning, cost control and construction technology
Construction related qualification.
Project management related qualification is desirable such as Prince2 Foundation or Association of Project Managers Foundation certification (Practitioner preferred) or demonstrable career development activities
ContractInitial 6 to 18 month contract with the opportunity to extend
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (Hybrid Position)
