Job description
Cramlington Vets4Pets are looking for a veterinary surgeon to join their established, vibrant team on a consult only basis working weekends. With strong links to the local community, a close-knit team who look out for each other’s well-being and the facilities and support to provide the best veterinary care this is an opportunity not to be missed.
About us: We are an RCVS accredited, busy first opinion practice which opened in 2008. Since then, our RVN JVP Emma has led and developed our team which now consists of 5 vets, 8 RVNs, 3 SVNs, 1 VCA and 6 receptionists. Within our vet team we have interests in ultrasonography, internal medicine, and acupuncture and are always looking to add more.
A focus on becoming an integral part of the local community has led us to build an excellent reputation and as such have a fantastic client base, many of whom are insured, bringing in lots of interesting cases. We practice fear-free handling and in addition to our ‘in-team’ interests have strong links to our local referral hospitals which ensures we are working up cases to the highest standard possible. We also have exciting plans to expand our already well-equipped practice.
As well as great veterinary care, we place emphasis on inclusivity, our team’s well-being, and ensuring everyone enjoys the work-life balance they need. Admin time is included in the diary each day, your team are always there to support you, and we love to socialise outside of work. As a team we have close links to the community, sponsoring one of our local football teams and taking part in local events including an annual dog festival.
Close links with other local Vets4Pets practices and Pets At Home stores provides an additional network of support.
Our practice, is based on a retail park with access to an array of shops, restaurants and other local amenities. As well as close proximity to Newcastle and the excellent transport links that provides, you will also find yourself surrounded by the beautiful Northumberland countryside and coastline.
The Role: This will be a consult only position working weekends with occassional adhoc cover available. No OOHs and no on call is required.
We are looking for a vet who ideally has some experience in general practice with basic consults and surgeries but most importantly are looking for the right person for our team who will embrace our ethos of supporting each other and providing great care to our community.
We offer the excellent benefits package that would be expected form one of the leading veterinary providers including a salary of £45-65k pro rata, funded CPD, exclusive discounts and much more.
