Description of School:

Kosice International School (KEIS) is the first international school in Eastern Slovakia. Our school delivers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) with a particular focus on technology-enhanced learning. KEIS serves children from 3 to 12 in primary school and 13-16 in middle school. Due to the positive growth of the school community, we now require another PYP Classroom Teacher to join the team!

This is an exciting opportunity for an IB educator to help pioneer the first international IB PYP World School that will drive the future progress of the Kosice region.

Description of Position:

We want to employ positive, passionate and motivated inquiry teachers to join our PYP team. The role of the PYP homeroom teacher will be to implement the enhanced PYP programme, collaboratively develop an inquiry curriculum and facilitate a high-quality, 21st-century learning environment that can provoke agency.

Criteria:

The successful candidate will:

• Have relevant qualifications and proven teaching experience, preferably in an IB PYP setting.
• Have prior homeroom teaching experience, including teaching a range of disciplines.
• Knowledge of educational theories and pedagogy.
• Demonstrate strong collaborative and interpersonal skills.
• Be of native-level English language abilities.
• Has developed classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Model an inquiry approach to teaching and learning.
• Have knowledge and experience of and a commitment to the educational philosophy of the IB and the IB Learner Profile.
• Lead after-school clubs based on duty roster.
• Collaborate with others in school celebrations, events and meetings required to implement the programme.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate lessons stimulating and motivating student inquiry and action.
• Experience teaching students with diverse cultures, needs and abilities.
• Work and plan in collaboration with teams.
• Experience implementing technology into inquiry-based learning.
• Enjoy teaching and working in an internationally-minded environment.
