Job description
Alzheimer’s Society is a vital source of support and a powerful force for change for everyone living with dementia. It is currently looking for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
This role presents an opportunity for someone to make a profound impact on the lives of those living with dementia. As the largest UK charity addressing this critical issue, Alzheimer's Society has ambitious goals, bolstered by a strong financial position, a highly capable executive team, and amazingly engaged supporters.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, the new CFO will be a vital part of the Society’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and an important member of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee, working closely with the Board of Trustees. They will oversee the financial management of this £116.5 (and growing) turnover organisation, as well as the effectiveness of its wider corporate resources.
The successful candidate should be a qualified accountant with a significant track record of successful financial leadership gained within the context of a customer-driven organisation with a turnover of at least £70 million. Candidates will be welcomed from either the private, public or voluntary sectors, as long as they have some prior experience of the voluntary sector as a charity employee, trustee, or volunteer.
Applications should consist of a covering letter, a CV, and the details of at least two potential referees. These can be uploaded via the website of the executive search firm Society.
The deadline for receipt of applications is midday (GMT) on Monday 25th March 2024.
Alzheimer’s Society is committed to championing diversity, equity, and inclusion. It wants its employees, volunteers, and Trustees to represent the full diversity of the UK and to reflect the diverse needs of all those living with dementia. We particularly welcome applications to help us achieve this aim.
