Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for being part of a global team of GE Aerospace Travel & Fleet Operations professionals. This position provides leadership and expertise for the day-to-day operations in one or more regions for GE Aerospace’s meetings & events and company car fleet processes, including managing strategic suppliers, reviewing/updating processes, and procedures, and interacting with company car drivers, meeting planners and other business partners as required. Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may influence work.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Member of a global team of travel professionals focused on process delivery for GE Aerospace’s meeting planners and company car drivers. Includes supplier management within the assigned region(s) of the Fleet Management Companies (FMC) and Travel Management Company (TMC) providing support meeting planners and drivers
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to execute global conferences, meetings, and events, including:
- Venue sourcing: Determine and contract with suitable locations and venues for GE Aerospace leaders to meet with customers and other stakeholders to build strong relationships, foster learning and development or other objectives that result in a successful event
- Meeting planning: Support event project plans to meet stakeholder needs including sourcing content, speakers on-site resourcing, and team building opportunities
- Partner with IT on meeting technology tools (such as Cvent) and registration processes
- Collaborate with Security to on attendee safety and GE Aerospace duty of care responsibilities for meetings and events Partner with the Travel & Expense and/or Buy to Pay teams on meeting and event payment processes
- Partner with event planners, category managers, other business or functional partners and stakeholders across GE Aerospace on to execute meetings & events and/or fleet strategy within the assigned region
- Drive benchmarking, best practices, and continuous improvement
- Monitor & report on Meetings and Fleet performance metrics, including BPO performance
- Report & analyse meeting and fleet spend patterns
- Implement meetings & event and fleet processes with GE Aerospace (acquisitions, re-orgs, etc.)
- Complete GE Aerospace’s overall separation activities, including ramping down GE’s legacy travel ecosystem and supporting a successful exit for GE HealthCare, GE Aerospace, and GE Vernova
- Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier panels. Lead negotiations and allocate needs to specific suppliers. Negotiate terms and conditions and transmit information to Procurement. Manage claims. Includes commercial sourcing management such as data analysis, negotiations support, etc. This may also include purchasing activities.
- Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. Work is subject to functional policy objectives. Regularly advises management in the function and/or in the business. Has a supportive role in decision making about important subjects. High levels of evaluative judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the function. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Required Qualifications
- This role requires significant experience in Sourcing & Commodity Management, Travel Operations, Meetings Management or Fleet Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
