Job description

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is a small Council with big values. After a recent restructure, we are currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer to work with and take strategic direction from the Procurement Service Manager, Assistant Director - Governance & Democracy, service areas departments, Assistant Directors and the Strategic Directors of NBBC (when applicable), Rugby Borough Council and support for the Council's wholly owned subsidiary(NABCEL). The role shall ensure excellence in services to customers, both internal and external.
To act as the Procurement Officer for the Procurement of goods, services and works in accordance with the Contract Procedure Rules and Public Procurement Regulations for the Council, Rugby Borough Council and NABCEL. Furthermore, the post holder will offer and provide professional, contractual and specialist knowledge and advice on contract specification, evaluation maintenance and supplier performance under the contract
Proven track record of developing Capital & Revenue contracts and associated procedures.
Experience of analysing and interpreting financial and statistical data to report on trends.
Experience managing Procurement processes and procedures.

The post holder should therefore have experience of dealing with customers/suppliers in person and/or over the phone, experience using Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel as well as PDF software, practical knowledge of computer applications & ICT and must have good literacy and numeracy with a keen eye for detail.
