Job description

The main responsibilities of the role include: Delivering a high standard of patient care, using advanced, autonomous clinical skills and a broad, in-depth, theoretical knowledge-base; Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients conditions, initiating direct referrals, as appropriate; Providing expert advice to patients, carers and colleagues; Developing innovative concepts, models, methods and practices, to help deliver improved primary care to our practice population; Advancing patient health and well-being through the use of health promotion, health education, screening and therapeutic communication skills; As an independent prescriber: to prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication, as defined by current legislative framework; Leading and undertaking research and audits; Providing leadership, education and training to different healthcare professionals, staff and students; As a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group. Whether you have already developed a specific specialty or have an interest in doing so, we will support your ongoing career and training development. About the Candidate The successful candidate will: be a registered general practice nurse, holding current registration with the NMC; hold a recognised ANP qualification at master's level; hold an independent prescriber qualification; be able to work with a high degree of autonomy; be confident in leading in a variety of settings: your leadership of others will also enable you to use and further develop your teaching and mentoring experience/qualifications; be forward-thinking and will strive to develop innovative ideas and new ways of working, that address the health needs of the practice, whilst motivating and encouraging others to do the same; be an excellent communicator and collaborator; embrace opportunities to work and liaise with others, across multi-professional and multi-agency boundaries, in the interests of improving patient outcomes; be consistently compassionate and respectful, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
