About The Role…
This is a varied opportunity with great exposure to financial accounting and ad hoc project and systems work, reporting directly into the Financial Controller and having responsibility for:
- Partnering with various stakeholders across the multiple UK sites within the business
- Being the first point of contact for system queries and taking a collaborative approach to the mentorship and upskilling of non-Finance colleagues
- Setting up and training new users onto the system
- Leading on system process improvements and future developments
- Maintaining coding structures across all systems to ensure that the financials are accurately recorded and analytical data requirements are fit for purpose
- Preparation of the year end statutory accounts for all legal entities
- Preparation of monetary balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing the cash card process and system
- Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
- Ensuring Capex is appropriately coded and accounted for
- Liaising with the Financial Controller with tax advisors and external auditors
- Assisting with VAT submissions for group
- Managing, maintaining and improving the accounting system
- Supporting the implementation of stronger controls and processes
About You…
- Finalist or fully qualified accountant or Qualified by experience with 2 years' experience in similar functions
- A proven and demonstrable record of experience in statutory and management accounts
- Desire to show initiative and continuous improvement of current processes and procedures
- Strong IT skills with an advanced knowledge of Excel
- Strong accuracy skills with high attention to detail, whilst having the ability to see the bigger picture
- Strong communication skills for dealing with a wider variety of stakeholders and systems users with system and financial accounting issues
- Credibility and confidence to work with senior managers across the organisation
- Able to cope under pressured deadlines
- Assertive and able to take ownership for tasks
- Able to challenge and not accept the status quo
