Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Test Engineer to start work at a busy production and distribution centre based in Tewkesbury!

 
As an Electrical Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Tewkesbury Production site and Distribution Depot.

Your primary focus will be on planned preventative maintenance, complemented by supporting the reactive maintenance team as needed within the Engineering Department.

This dynamic role requires strong problem-solving abilities, confident fault-finding skills, and a proactive approach to maintenance. With a strong electrical bias, you'll work with a variety of machinery.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is hands-on. Key duties include:
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations, inspection protocols and required testing thresholds
  • Conduct periodic lubrication and inspection of all machinery and equipment
  • Conduct annual electrical emergency light testing
  • Conduct annual electrical distribution testing
  • Respond to breakdowns and provide reactive maintenance
  • Repair and test all electrical and mechanical plant equipment
  • Fault-find and resolve issues
 
Ideally, You will hold an electrical engineering qualification, with the following up-to-date requirements:
  • Award in Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installation (C&G 2391-51)
  • 18th edition regulations amendment 2
  • 18th edition Onsite Guide Amendment 2
  • Guidance notes 3 inspection and testing amendment 2.
  • Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations
 
Shift Pattern:
37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday from 1345 to 2145.
