We are recruiting for a small animal practice in Burgess Hill who are looking for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team.
The practice is looking for an empathetic and ambitious RVN who has good experience working in a small animal practice. The role will involve all aspects of nursing and you will be prepared to develop your skills by collaborating with the wider team. You will perform your nursing duties with confidence to provide the gold standard of care to the practice's loyal clients by assisting vets in surgical procedures. You must have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Your nursing duties will involve managing the kennels, in-patient care, assisting in the operating theatre, and consulting.
This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 4 days, along with 1 in 4 weekends. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.
Duties:
- Assisting in the day to day running of the practice
- Admissions and discharges
- Working alongside the non-clinical and clinical team to ensure the smooth delivery of patient and client care
- Be responsible and take ownership of tasks
- Monitoring operations and assisting the vet in surgery
- Administering medications and taking records accurately
- In patient care
- Nurse clinics
- Measuring blood pressure, sampling, and pharmacy work
- Type: Small animal
- Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

- Computer system: RX Works
- Consultations: 15 minutes
- Team: 9 vets, 9 nurses and a supportive non-clinical team
