Position Responsibilities:

As a Post-16 Visually Impaired Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

Providing one-on-one support to post-16 students with visual impairments, fostering independence and academic success.

Collaborating with teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure a fully inclusive learning experience.

Assisting in the use and maintenance of specialized technology and tools to enhance students' access to educational materials.

Supporting students in developing essential life skills, preparing them for independence beyond the classroom.

Facilitating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting a sense of belonging for all students.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Experience working with post-16 students with visual impairments, willingness to learn OR SEND experience

A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience.

Familiarity with adaptive technology and resources for visually impaired individuals.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a commitment to promoting independence and success.
