Job description
This operational manager post will provide the day to day operational leadership and management required for the day to day delivery of all services from pharmacy and Stockton Quality Control Laboratory (SQCL).
Inpatient pharmacy services are delivered across the trust. Outpatient services are delivered via the pharmacy services an in collaboration with Panacea Pharmacy.
SQCL is the largest NHS regional QC service delivering services across NENC but also to other parts of the UK. This includes to NHS and private customers.
The post holder will not require a specialist knowledge in pharmacy but will require operational expertise and extensive experience of delivery of clinical and professional services within healthcare.
Responsible for all aspects of the services across the department, the post holder will monitor performance through agreed KPIs, ensure staff competence and development for robust delivery of all services, and ensure all risks to service are logged, mitigated and managed via trust governance systems and processes.

• • Develops staff by undertaking in assessments of need, competency/proficiency and the delivery of training.
• Designs, implements and monitors adherence to local Pharmacy, Trust and National Policies.
• Works closely with the chief pharmacist and her deputy in order to deliver the service required
• Manages all non pharmacist staff including pharmacy technicians, healthcare scientists, scientists, technicians, admin, business and support staff.
• Works closely with the Associate Director of Pharmacy; Transformation and Business Lead, to support development of business cases and develop the services as required to be robust and fit for the future demands.
