Technical Bid Manager
Remote w/occasional travel to Bromley
£50,000 Per Annum
Job Summary:
Digital Skills are looking to speak with a highly skilled and experienced Technical Bid Manager to lead our client's team in preparing and submitting competitive bids for IT opportunities, with a particular focus on the UK Public Sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT solutions and services, combined with exceptional project management, communication, creativity and leadership skills, as well as familiarity with UK Public Sector frameworks. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, developing strategic bid proposals, and ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the triage of the initial tender opportunity, through to development and submission of a final proposal, ensuring alignment with client specifications, business objectives, social and climate values, company strengths and differentiators.
- Manage and generate well-polished' presentations as needed as part of the Client selection process.
- Coordinate with sales, technical, and operational teams to gather necessary information and resources for bid preparation.
- Analyse RFPs (Request for Proposals), RFIs (Request for Information), and other tender documents to understand client requirements, evaluate feasibility to bid and present conclusions to relevant SMT members.
- Develop and present bid strategies to senior management, ensuring innovative solutions, competitive pricing, and alignment with Public Sector frameworks are included.
- Manage the bid process timeline, ensuring all milestones are met and submissions are on schedule.
- Write and edit technical documents, ensuring clarity, compliance, and compelling value propositions.
- Engage with clients, partners, and vendors to form strategic alliances and gather supportive information for bids.
- Conduct risk assessments for potential projects, proposing mitigation strategies where necessary.
- Oversee the post-submission process, including handling clarifications, negotiations, and presentations to clients.
- Continuously improve the bid process by incorporating feedback and lessons learned from previous bids, with a focus on Public Sector requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Relevant professional certification (eg from PMP) is a plus.
- At least five years proven experience in managing and leading technical bids within the IT industry, at this level, with a successful track record of winning proposals and specific experience with UK Public Sector frameworks.
- Strong understanding of IT services, solutions, market trends, and UK Public Sector procurement processes.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skill, creative, editing, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple bids simultaneously with exceptional time management.
- Strong leadership and team coordination capabilities, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
