Job description
CK Group are recruiting for a Industrial Chemist to lead the development of a process for the synthesis of organic acids for our client based in Cornwall. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and implementing a scalable and efficient production method.
The Role:
- Investigate and analyse existing literature on synthesis and related catalytic processes.
- Design and execute experiments to develop a process for the synthesis.
- Evaluate and select suitable catalysts
- Optimize catalyst performance through systematic screening and modification.
- Design and implement reaction engineering strategies to enhance the efficiency and selectivity of the synthesis process.
- Work towards scaling up theprocess from laboratory to pilot and potentially to industrial scale.
- Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory submissions.
Your Background:
- Degree in Chemistry or related field with a focus on catalysis or chemical synthesis.
- Proven experience in industrial chemistry, process development, (and catalytic reactions).
- Strong knowledge of sulfonation reactions and relevant literature.
- Familiarity with catalyst screening and optimization techniques.
