Student Profile: Extremely challenging behaviour, SEMH/Behaviour needs
Training Desired: Positive Handling
Known Behaviours: Biting and Physical Aggression
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join our team in Newham. This full time position involves working 1:1 with a Year 1 child with extremely challenging behaviour, particularly in the areas of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH). The role may include positive handling, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to secure a permanent contract based on performance.
Key Responsibilities: - 1:1 Support: Work closely with a Year 1 child, providing tailored support to address behavioural challenges.
- Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with the student's SEMH needs.
- Positive Handling: Utilize positive handling techniques to manage challenging behaviours safely.
Requirements: - Experience: Demonstrate substantial experience working with children with behavioural needs, particularly in SEMH.
- Positive Handling Training: Possess or be willing to undergo Positive Handling training.
- Resilience: Exhibit resilience in managing challenging behaviours, including biting and physical aggression.
