Day (United States of America)This role will be responsible for designing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated operating systems. The individual will perform the installation and management of the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs, including Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, Microsoft SCCM and other application and system management platforms. The role will understand performance metrics, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues related to capacity or other performance issues. The individual will apply platform and software upgrades to production and non-production components to maintain the highest level of availability and performance. The role will collaborate with other Information Systems colleagues, Information Security Officer, Information Systems Leadership and other stakeholders to identify, develop, implement and support cost-effective and functional information security controls for all aspects of the organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting with and providing enterprise systems design, technical project leadership, system implementation, ongoing operational support, proactive analysis, and capacity planning.
- Installing and managing the application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs.
- Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of Epic and other systems.
- Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues.
- Assisting in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third party software and peripherals, including document management systems, voice recognition, scanning, and faxing.
- Managing logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration.
- Applying Epic and other software platform upgrades and updates to production and non-production components.
- Engaging in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources.
- Collaborating with technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support.
- Maintaining and configuring Citrix and VMware servers with various automation scripts, and Active Directory Group Policy to customize the user experience and improve performance or functionality.
- Designing, installing and configuring anti-virus solutions, backup and recovery, web filtering, network printing solutions, mobile devices, Microsoft Exchange, e-mail filtering, system and network monitoring tools, and supporting other infrastructure applications.
- Participating in change control process for all planned application and technical activities.
- Maintaining and testing processes related to business continuity.
- Following Epic and other vendor best practices for hardware and software configuration.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp and XenDesktop) required
- Experience with Citrix ADC (Citrix NetScaler) highly preferred
- Experience with Citrix App Layering and WEM highly preferred
- Automation skills highly preferred
- Experience with VMware preferred
- Experience with Citrix Cloud a plus
- Knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware desired
- Knowledge of storage management desired
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and network troubleshooting tools (WireShark, NetMon, CPORTS, etc.)
- Knowledge of technical writing principles and practices
- Skill to effectively analyze and solve problems
- Skill in software installation and maintenance
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and public
Qualifications:
- Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, or Citrix CCA/CCIA/CCEE certification preferred
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in information technology with expertise in Microsoft Windows server administration, including Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, or VMware
