Brighton Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College
Location
Brighton & Hove, East Sussex | United Kingdom
Job description
We are one of the top-performing colleges in the country, situated in the cosmopolitan seaside city of Brighton & Hove. Working here offers the combination of both a wonderful place to work and a great city in which to live. Our students and staff are colourful, aspirational and hard-working – which is perhaps why 96% of employees would “recommend BHASVIC as a good place to work” and many of our students go on to Higher Education.
We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, committed, and skilful teachers to contribute primarily to the teaching of A Level Maths, though we also have a much smaller GCSE provision (approximately two classes each year), which successful candidates might also be asked to teach. These posts have arisen due to increasing numbers of students wanting to study Maths at BHASVIC.
Benefits: Join us and you can expect competitive pay and an excellent pension scheme, family-friendly working and a collaborative culture where ideas take flight together. Our Cycle to Work scheme, free counselling and occupational health service, discounted gym memberships and staff wellbeing events will keep you sharp, whilst our tailored induction programme and investment in your professional development – along with the possibility of funding for additional qualifications and to even take a sabbatical – will ensure an exciting future.
Hours: When applying for this vacancy, you will be able to choose between full-time (23 hours of contact time per week) or part-time roles. We need to appoint approximately up to the equivalent of four full-time Teachers of Maths, and the exact FTEs are flexible.
Salary: The BHASVIC Corporation has adopted the conditions of service and salary scales applicable to sixth form colleges. The current full-time salary range for qualified teachers is £30,500 to £47,133 per annum (depending upon experience). This will be pro rata depending on your FTE for a part-time contract.

Closing date: 9am on Monday 15 April 2024
Interview date: Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 April 2024
