Duties/Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Pipefitter to join our team at our site in Berkshire.  

 

Hours:

Week 1 Monday to Friday Week 2 Monday to Thursday  0745-1630 (1615 on Fridays), 30 minute lunch, 9 day fortnight (avg. 37hrs per week)

Due to the nature of this contract only British Citizens can be considered for this position and will need to undergo & maintain security clearance.

 

Job Purpose 

 

We are looking for a pipefitter to build pipe systems.

You’ll get to read drawings & specifications, lay out plans for installation, and prepare pipes. You should be able to use pneumatic and hydraulic tools following safety guidelines.

 

Duties/responsibilities/accountabilities/deliverables

 

• Be able to read and understand Mechanical Layout Drawings from Engineering Designs and be able to fabricate from them from supplied materials
• Be able to plan tasks given to carry out effectively and efficiently
• The ability to work well with others
• The ability to use your initiative
• Follow Health & Safety Guidelines and use Personal Protective Equipment
• Strong Communication skills

 

 

Person Specification

 

• Good experience using trade related power tools, i.e. drills, screwing machines, reciprocating saws
• Good experience fabricating copper pipework up to 54mm using soldered and compression fittings.
• Experience (though not essential) fabricating copper pipework up to 54mm using Pressfit systems
• Good experience fabricating black and galvanised steel pipework up to 2” using screwed fittings
• Experience (though not essential) fabricating pipework using Swagelok system up to 25mm.
• Experience and understanding installing pipework to the following systems:

  Mains Cold Water

  Domestic Hot Water

  Compressed Air

  Chilled Water

  Steam & Condensate

  Compressed Gas (though not essential)

  Above Ground Drainage

   

• Have good experience fabricating bracketry systems to include Unistrut supports
• Have good experience in hydraulic pressure testing
• Able to lift up to 25Kg
• Trained and awarded CSCS Card (though not essential)
• Trained and awarded IPAF (though not essential)
• Must be in possession of a valid Driving License

Ideally, would like candidate to have experience in both residential and industrial settings, and with pipes of different materials (copper, steel, PVC, etc.).
