Job description
A full-time post in cardiology ST1 is available at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, based at the John Radcliffe in Oxford. The post would be most suitable for an experienced trainee wishing to gain further experience in Cardiology. The post offers an opportunity for exposure to acute inpatient cardiology management including observing and potentially assisting in procedures, with an expectation to contribute towards service development via quality improvement initiatives
The principle role of this post will be supporting cardiology activity on the cardiology ward and the day unit with potential for involvement in some aspects of patient’s treatment. The post-holder will participate in the service’s inpatient activities. This will involve sharing the cardiology rota with the other FY2 and CMT doctors. This includes evening shifts and weekend long day shifts but no overnight shifts. The post-holder will participate in the Cardiology SHO rota dealing with the Cardiology ward, day case, cardiac catheter laboratories and cardiothoracic critical care including CCU.
