Daylesford Stays - our hospitality division encompasses a collection of traditional Cotswold-stone cottages and modern British Inns; existing pubs The Wild Rabbit, The Fox at Oddington, The Bell at Charlbury, and The Three Horseshoes at Asthall.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Group Director of Digital and Ecommerce and with one direct report, this role is pivotal to the success of the business five-year growth plan, of which digital is a significant pillar. 

This role’s key focuses are to plan and implement strategies which drive online sales, enhance customer experience, and ensure that all our customers and site users have an elevated online experience, aligned with our brand values of quality and luxury. 

YOUR ROLE

Online sales and revenue growth - Drive revenue through effective merchandising, product assortment, pricing, promotions, and cross selling strategies. Monitor and analyse key ecommerce metrics and trends and take appropriate action to optimise performance, ensuring the sites are optimised for SEO. 

Planning and budgeting - Ownership of the digital budget creation and delivery from demand generation through to dispatch and refund phasing, planning trade activity and continuously managing risk and opportunities to net sales targets. Ensure focus of margin and profit as well as topline revenue is maintained and managed through planning of both sales and costs. 

Product ranging and stock / inventory management – Working closely with central buying teams to plan a product mix which maximises digital commercial opportunities.

User experience – Ensure a seamless and user-friendly on-line shopping experience, optimising website functionality, navigation, PDP’s, checkout funnel, promotional campaigns, and mobile responsiveness across all websites.

Ensure on-line customers have an authentic brand experience for both new and repeat customer journeys and working closely with the marketing team and marketing calendar reflect key themes and campaigns. Work closely with marketing to align brand marketing activity and themes to trading activity on site, aligning with the paid marketing team on budgets and required trading activity. Aligning with the CRM team for onsite experience to drive database sign up and contribution of CRM and email activity to the digital trading channels. 

Ecommerce operations – Working with the relevant cross functional departments to drive the right set up for our ecommerce businesses (warehouse solution, stock management, delivery proposition, pricing and returns prices) to ensure customer satisfaction balanced with efficient operations and cost management. 

Platform management: Work closely with our web agency to ensure sites are maintained and delivering both critical and optimisation-based developments through a programme of continuous improvement; project managing end to end delivery of web development enhancements. 

Analytics and reporting – use web analytics tools to track and analyse sales data and campaign effectiveness and generate regular reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders including market and competitor benchmarking. 

Leadership – Build and lead a high-performance ecommerce team providing clear direction, guidance, and support. Set KPI’s and regular updates, fostering a collaborative approach and high energy, motivated working environment. Influencing and maintaining positive relationships with peers and teams across all business functions. 

Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and ecommerce best practices. Continually recommend tools, platforms and strategies to improve operations and stay ahead of our competitor set.

SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

5+ years of ecommerce management with line management experience .

Progressive mindset, solution focused, and results orientated spirit with a passion for ecommerce. 

Strong understanding of ecommerce best practices, trends, and technologies .

Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and insights to make informed decisions. 

Results oriented mindset and a passion for driving business growth. 

Proficient in ecommerce platforms, web analytics tools and content management tools. Magento platform experience beneficiary.

Experience in planning ecommerce product ranging and stock management preferable.

Strong project management and organisational skills.

Ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic environment and drive change effectively.
