Job description
The successful applicant will work to support the in-patient and ambulatory services across the Trust as a member of the integrated Palliative Care medical team. Duties will be undertaken in conjunction with consultant colleagues, with the support of an annual job planning process to provide oversight and supervision to the consultant led services.
The appointee, together with his or her colleagues will have a commitment to the provision of consultant medical cover within the hospital based services on the Royal Liverpool University Hospital site.
The post includes 10 Programmed activities (PAs) and the main commitments of this post are proposed as follows:
In addition, other opportunities include involvement in the extensive integrated education and audit program of the directorate, which engages staff from all aspects of the service, providing joint learning and building team relations. Time is also dedicated for clinical administration duties, attendance at meetings and continuing medical education.

We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to support the development and delivery of our newly integrated services across the south of the city.
The services across Liverpool have undergone complete transformation following the merger of Aintree and the Royal Liverpool hospitals, the transfer of clinical services from Woodlands Hospice into LUHFT, and the local re-modelling of palliative care services in 2020 to form the Integrated Mersey Palliative Care Team (IMPaCT).
The post holder will be employed by Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and will support the delivery of the in-patient and hospital specialist palliative care services at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital NHS.
Applicants are required to be on the Specialist Register and have their CCT in Palliative Medicine or be within six months of obtaining it by the interview date. Full Registration and Licensing with the GMC is essential.
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
