Job Role: Assistant Management Accountant

Location: Halifax

Salary: circa £25,000

Hours of Work: 09.00 – 17:00 hrs Monday to Friday

Our client is a global manufacturing organisation with operations in UK, China and Dubai. Roxor Group is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and distributors of bathroom products. The business owns established operations in the UK, China and the UAE, employing over 400 people across 5 sites with an annual turnover of £90m+.

The company is now seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join their team. This role supports the senior management team and the wider Finance team, working predominantly on the UK subsidiaries of the group. This is an excellent opportunity to build experience in an accounting environment with study support to obtain a professional qualification.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

- Prepare monthly management accounts.
- Prepare and input journals, including accruals and prepayments.
- Prepare the month end timetable and support the Purchase Ledger and Credit Control teams with the ledger close.
- Maintain exchange rate tables and revalue foreign currency balances.
- Assist with rebate calculations and effect on provisions.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and hire purchase reconciliations.
- Analyse aged debtor and creditor reports for balance sheets.
- Review balance sheet accounts and be able to explain reconciling items.
- Provide support with the day-to-day financial transactional activities and reports.
- Investigate variances and provide information on financial activity.
- Prepare intercompany elimination reconciliations.
- Calculate the consolidation entries for the group and assist with board pack schedules.
- Assist with external audit, VAT, National Statistics and other compliance tasks.
- Support the finance team on ad hoc areas, including process improvement activities.

Skills and Relevant Experience

- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Double entry accounting knowledge is preferred.
- Confident with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP and SUMIF).
- Ability to use initiative and manage own workload within required timescales.
- Disciplined and organised with the ability to work under pressure.
- Financially orientated with good attention to detail
