We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full time basis. The role offers 40 hours per week Monday - Friday. There is a 1:4 weekend rota working Saturday 9am - 1pm and Sunday 9am - 12.30pm. No OOH.

The role
- Permanent Veterinary Surgeon
- Monday - Friday week - 40 Hours per week
- 1:4 weekend rota working Saturday 9am - 1pm and Sunday 9am - 12.30pm
- No OOH or bank holidays
- When working within the branch surgery the role will be sole charge with a mixture of consultations and surgeries
- They can offer a mixture of both consultations and surgeries and will support areas of special interests
- There is one dedicated surgery day each week
- The offer 15 minute consultations
- They hold practice meetings every two weeks to discuss cases, share thoughts and knowledge and share ideas
- They hold clinical meetings every 3-4 months which are optional. This is to have chats about complex cases more in depthly, discuss CPD and protocols etc. This is held over a dinner out of practice.
- Flexible working and rota patterns available to accommodate a good work / life balance. EG Rota to work around the school run / holidays
- The Vet will be responsible for providing a high standard of veterinary care and customer service.
- The Vet will be responsible to ensuring that there is excellent communication between themselves and the team and with clients.

- Single site practice on the outskirts of Peterhead
- Large loyal client base which have been with them for many years
- Located close to the coast and the mountains and forests
- Modern and purpose built practice
- They have facilities including 2 Theatres, 4 Consulting rooms, in house idexx lab, ultrasound, endoscopy, orthopaedic kit (to allow for MMP, TPLO).
- They have a large and friendly team and pride themselves on providing a high quality of care to all of their clients.
- Certificate study / further training is encouraged and supported
- The practice provides a high standard of care and customer service to all its patients and clients.
Team culture:
- They have a team of 6 Vets, 6 RVNs and 2 VCA with support from a reception team, pharmacist and practice manager
- They hold certificate holding Veterinary Surgeons and some of whom are currently studying towards them
- They have a nurse team with various levels of special interest
- The team work together to support one another and enable each other to achieve goals and continue to develop their clinical skills and knowledge
- They ensure that the team get scheduled breaks and scheduled call times to clients
- They understand the difficulties that the vet industry can face, and they ensure that each member of staff support each other and strive each day to provide a positive and encouraging work environment
