Job description

What you will do in your working day

Veterinary Nursing Apprentice working to achieve a Vetskill Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing, run by the College of Animal Welfare.  

Day to day tasks involve: 

• Working alongside nurses and vets to assist with veterinary procedures. 
• Patient care. 
• Arranging client appointments. 

The training you will be getting

On successful completion of the End Point Assessment the learner will be awarded the RCVS – accredited Licence to Practise Veterinary Nursing qualification at Level 3.

Completion of the VTEC Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing qualification will allow you to apply for professional registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). 

Apprentices will be attending college lectures one day a week at the CAW London centre, and working at the practice in St Albans 4 days a week.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Upon achieving the Vetskill level 3 diploma in Veterinary Nursing, apprentices can apply for professional registration as a veterinary nurse with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
