We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Operations Manager to work toward advancing and streamlining the shipping process for clients conducting product research via our innovative research platform. This role will be instrumental in enabling our clients to easily manage the logistics of product research, as related specifically to receiving and sourcing products and shipping to consumers or fieldwork facilities.
Reporting to the Global Operations Director, you will drive the expansion and execution of our shipping capabilities, ensuring they align with our client promise of simplified, turnkey logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Development Phase:
Shipping Vendor Relationship Development: Seek and develop relationships with vendors as
appropriate to support the end-to-end needs of our clients.
o Identify markets that require Customs Broker support, identify ideal vendor and
setup relationship.
o Identify markets that would benefit from freight forward company assistance,
identify ideal vendor and setup relationship.
o Identify markets that require development of relationship with key shipping vendor.
Support Expansion to Ship Alcohol: build shipping capabilities by acquiring and maintaining
all necessary licensing to ship alcohol in relevant markets.
Negotiate Competitive Pricing: Assess, volume and pricing contracts, to ensure competitive
and client-friendly pricing strategies.
Build a framework and process for International Shipping: Develop our international
shipping capabilities by liaising with clients, research teams & vendors to understand project
needs and build a process to show how this can work effectively. During set up phase also
manage any projects requiring shipping of products between countries.
Global Integration: Collaborate extensively with MMR's global operations team to
seamlessly integrate new logistics processes and resources into our existing logistics
capabilities.
Post-Launch:
International Shipping Capability Maintenance: Assume overall responsibility for
maintaining the capabilities and processes to ensure international shipping can operate as
planned and we consistently deliver on our client promise of simplified logistics.
Manage Day to Day International Shipping: Ensure all projects requiring international
shipping are delivered effectively by liaising with clients, research teams & vendors to
manage projects requiring shipping of products between countries.
Negotiate & Maintain Competitive Pricing: Regularly assess, volume and pricing contracts,
to identify possibilities for improvement, to maintain competitive and client-friendly pricing
strategies.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and evolve our shipping processes and
capabilities to better fulfil our client promise, enhance our service offering, and adapt to
evolving market dynamics
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field
Experience in logistics or operations, ideally within a global context and preferably related to FMCG, especially food, drink and personal care.
Proven track record in contributing to international logistics teams.
Strong expertise in communicating with international vendors.
Proficiency in project management and process optimization.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective global integration.
Adaptability and a solution-oriented mindset to address evolving logistical challenges
