Multiple vacancies available, permanent & Fixed Term Contract, full & part-time
Commencing salary £42,042 plus £1,308 lunch allowance per annum (to be paid pro rata for part-time)
The National Education Union is a force for change in the world of education, bringing together more than 450,000 teachers, lecturers, support staff and leaders working in maintained and independent schools and colleges across the UK.
We are currently looking to recruit a number of Member Advisors, with multiple vacancies available, permanent and Fixed Term Contracts, full and part-time. Prospective applicants are advised to ensure their preferences are recorded in the available section on the online application form.
The successful candidates will contribute to the advancement of the union’s aims by advising NEU members on a wide range of employment concerns arising from their role in education. In doing so, they will work as part of a close-knit team and cover a range of employment related matters including workload, capability, pay and redundancy.
Prospective applicants will need to be highly motivated and able to make clear, informed and effective decisions. They will have a sound understanding of employment concerns and the role of trade unions in addressing them. Additionally, they will need to demonstrate strong IT literacy skills, good oral and written communication skills and an excellent telephone manner. As supportive team workers, they will be able to function comfortably during periods of increased pressure. Working hours in the AdviceLine are 35 hours per week (full-time) and follow a shift pattern between the hours of 9.00 to 19.00.
We offer good conditions including a commencing salary of £42,042 plus £1,308 lunch allowance pa, 33 days annual leave plus 4 days paid additional holiday entitlement as the NEU office closure days at Christmas and a defined benefit pension scheme. Salary and benefits will be calculated pro-rata for part-time applicants.
