TEACHER OF PSYCHOLOGY (PLUS ADDITIONAL SUBJECT)
Pay Range: Teachers Main/Upper Pay Scale
Actual Salary from: £30,000 - £46,525 (M1-U3)
Start Date: 1st September 2024

The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Clacton County High School for a member of staff to teach Psychology to Key Stage 4 students as part of a newly adopted GCSE course. CCHS offers Criminology and Psychology at Key Stage 5 and for the person with the right skill set, there could be the opportunity to teach at A Level.
For a full time teaching post, the successful candidate will be required to teach within an additional subject area.
As a school, we are determined never to stand still and as a result of this commitment, we are seeking an enthusiastic member of staff to become part of our CCHS team. It is important that the successful candidate is a dedicated and inspirational teacher and a great role model to their students.
Clacton County High School is part of the Sigma Trust and works closely in collaboration with the other schools within our trust family. As a result, we are innovative and always learning from each other to ensure that we deliver an exciting and progressive educational experience for our students. We continually develop and adapt our curriculum offer, improve the facilities and encourage participation in extra-curricular activities to give our students a breadth of opportunities
Alongside our main school site in Clacton, we have our own sixth form college, Sigma Sixth, with a campus in Tendring located within a short drive away from the school. Although, based at a different site it is very much part of the mainstream school.
Without doubt, this is an exceptionally exciting time to join our staff, the school is highly respected within the local community and is continuing to expand. We have a recent addition to the main school site; a new build with six brand modern and bright classrooms and a 4-court sports hall. The sixth form college is also a very modern environment with excellent facilities.
As a school and college, we are continually developing and adapting our curriculum offer, facilities, and extra-curricular opportunities to support the changing needs of the young people of this area, hence the decision to broaden our curriculum offer with this new GCSE course for our students.
Our guiding principles of ‘Higher Expectations, Raising Aspirations, Transforming Lives’ for all students and ‘ Discover Yourself, Define Your Future’ for the sixth form, together with our PROUD values, permeates throughout the school and reflects the passion and drive within all staff at CCHS and our sixth form college.
