Responsible for: Delivery of Care after Combat operations across England and Wales.
Level: Senior Management.
Main Role and Responsibilities
The Operations Lead and Executive Officer for Care after Combat is a critical and influential Senior Management role that is responsible for delivery of the charity’s operational effect and forms a significant part of the executive function. You will be joining the charity at an exciting time with the roll-out of the second phase of a national NHS England contract due in Q2 of 2024, alongside other service and structural developments in the pipeline.
As Operations Lead:
You will be responsible for the delivery of charity operations across all of England and Wales and will be heavily involved in delivering the strategic intent of the charity, as endorsed by the board of Trustees. Supported by a Deputy Operations Lead, you will lead and motivate the operational staff and volunteers, and HQ staff, to deliver high quality and effective support to veterans in justice. You will monitor and report on services delivered, both internally and to commissioners of contracted elements. You will liaise with HMPPS, partner providers, other third sector organisations and statutory bodies to ensure optimum working relationships, delivering best effect for service beneficiaries. You will maintain a strategic view of operations with an eye on continuous improvement and efficiency of services, delivering best value against finite charitable resources.
As Executive Officer:
General:
You will form one-third of the SMT alongside the Clinical & Research Lead and the CEO. The SMT meet periodically to review and update the charity’s short, medium, and long-term strategies, for subsequent Trustee endorsement. You will input to, and be present at, quarterly Trustee Meetings. As an SMT member, you will be required to represent the charity at various events and functions, including during evenings and weekends.
The role can be delivered via a hybrid working function but very regular presence at the HQ office in Newark, Nottinghamshire, (your designated place of work) will be required, along with occasional travel nationwide in support of regional operations staff and wider charity commitments.
You will be supported in your role by the CEO (your Line Manager), the Clinical & Research Lead, the Deputy Operations Lead, the Executive Assistant, and the wider Care after Combat Team.
