Description of Role
Role Responsibilities:
The role is an integral part of an established Team delivering Network and Infrastructure support to the Branch and Campus Estate of our Financial Services Clients . The purpose of the role is to support both the passive and active infrastructures, working on new and old installations as well as any adds, moves or changes the client may require. Flexible working patterns, with occasional nights may be required. Overtime will be paid. In addition to this, you would may be required to provide support within the clients southern data centres.
Definition of the works:
• Installation of cabling requests (copper and fibre following client required protocols)
• Assisting cabling installation infrastructure teams
• Attending to, identifying and rectification of incident reports and faults
• Liaising (written and verbal) with the client team to ensure works are delivered on time and communicated
• Arranging and attending to change requests when required
• Provision of on-call cover as required
• Carry out cable recovery of redundant cabling when required
• Installation and connectivity of network equipment
• Receiving and checking of deliveries and updating on North Systems accordingly
Experience Desirable:
• Demonstrate experience of the installation of Structured Cabling Systems
• The ability to locate and rectify faults on Structured Cabling Systems
• Able to work with minimum supervision
• Able to work as part of a team and be a team player
• Able to use initiative and applying a forward thinking mind set
• Demonstrate the ability to interface with customers with a professional and informative approach
• Experience of live data centre environments
Experience Essential:
• Experience of structured cabling systems (manufacture accreditations advantageous)
• Network equipment connectivity and installation experience
• PC literate – (use of Microsoft office software)
• Health and Safety awareness (ECS, SSSTS or IOSH certification advantageous)
Qualifications Preferred:
• Full UK Driving License
• CNCI or Equivalent
• PASMA / IPAF
• DBS Clearance
Training:
Supplementary training will be provided to ensure the candidates meet both North and the clients requirements.
