Job description

This fashion, retail and leisure giant is recruiting for a Real Estate Counsel to join their in-house legal team, based in Nottinghamshire.

You will be a Solicitor or Legal Executive with circa 0-3 years of experience. However we also welcome applications from individuals with more experience.

The role will report to the Senior Real Estate Counsel and will be supported by a Legal Assistant. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of work including:

• Working on and managing a variety of property acquisitions including freehold acquisitions, corporate acquisitions, and new leases.
• Site disposals including sale and leasebacks.
• Asset management – including lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 (from both a landlord and tenant perspective).
• Review of JCT contracts and collateral warranties.
• Property litigation including dilapidations claims, 1954 Act renewals and general litigation and break notices (with support from panel law firms).
• Drafting new leases (experience of turnover rents will be an advantage) and standard clauses to use across the portfolio.
