Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Preston, Lancashire
We are recruiting for a small animal Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent mixed animal hospital on the outskirts of Preston, Lancashire. This role is full time with 1 in 4 weekends. There will also be OOH shifts on a rota.
This role is ideal for a newly graduated veterinary surgeon who is looking for support or it would also suite an experienced veterinary surgeon looking to progress to study for a certificate.
This an established practice which offers its own OOH service and has a busy and complex case load. Due to them offering their own OOH it opens the opportunity for veterinary surgeons to be exposed to more complex medical and surgical cases and therefor enable growth in their clinical knowledge.
Both roles are full time positions however part time applications will be considered. There is flexibility with the hours however the Vet would be required to take part in the OOH rota as part of the team of 8 Vets on rotation.
About the practice
This is a large independent purpose-built hospital with two branch surgeries. The team comprises of 19 Vets in total, 18 nurses and reception team. The practice is located within a beautiful village and offers access to local amenities. It is within easy motorway access to both the Pennines, West Yorkshire, North Wales, the peaks and the lakes!
The practice sees a varied case load of both medical and surgical. They offer excellent facilities within the practice including 8 consulting rooms, 2 theatres, dental and X-Ray rooms as well as diagnostic rooms. They also equipped with all the latest technology such as endoscopy, ultrasonography, digital X-Ray, hydrotherapy, and K Laser. The practice pride themselves on providing plenty of support and there are regular in-house clinical meetings for Vets to discuss cases as well as sharing ideas. CPD is actively encouraged and there is always one of the directors available to assist with any ooh requirements.
About the role
The practice is looking for an enthusiastic and caring Veterinary Surgeon who would like to join a busy practice and be part of a large highly experienced support team. the role is full time with an OOH rota and weekend rota. Weekends are 1 in 4 and either day or night shift. The role offers the Surgeon the opportunity to work up cases from start to finish and retain them within the practice due to them covering their own OOH. The Vet must have excellent customer service and communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity for a Vet to work within a supported environment, with a busy case load, where excellent veterinary care is provided in an independent state of the art practice.
