Aircraft Painter/ Sprayer Fitter RNAS Culdrose, Helston Permanent/ Full timeCompetitive salary plus benefits
We have an exciting opportunity for an Aircraft Painter/ Sprayer to join our team based at RNAS Culdrose in Helston. This role will support the Supervisor and Serco Support Manager in providing paint finish activities to meet contractual delivery at RNAS Culdrose on Merlin Aircraft and associated components.

Main Accountabilities:

- Ensuring the Senior Supervisor, Supervisor and Serco Support Manager are made aware of all business risks.
- Ensuring all verbal and written customer complaints and Quality issues are brought to the attention of the Senior Supervisor, Supervisor and Serco Support Manager.
- Ensuring all employees under their control comply with:
- The Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) Act 1974.
- The Serco Management System.
- Where applicable Customer Policy and Regulations applicable to their grade and position.
- Company and Customer Environmental procedures.
- Company Equal Opportunities Policy.
- Administration tasks are carried out as required by the Senior Supervisor or Serco Support Manager.
- Further training courses necessary to their job are attended as required.
- Ensuring best practice and assurance of regulatory compliance by the utilisation of DASOR, Assure, VOR and any other reporting medium to capture and communicate findings and actions from engineering, safety and near miss events.
- Monitoring hazards and ensuring risks, and issues are identified and quantified
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives and associated programmes when required.
- When deemed as qualified by the Serco Support Manager to do so and when requested, Fitters Mates and Apprentices are trained/mentored as a supporting task of the job requirement and/or their development.
- To remain flexible and carry out any other tasks within their capabilities and experience in support of the Contract as directed by the Contract Manager or their representative.

What you’ll need:

- Hold a BTEC Level 3 or equivalent in paint application/spraying
- Previous painting experience at a high standard and a thorough and good working knowledge of the following:
- Exterior paint finishing of aircraft/aviation components
- desirable
- Health and Safety, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices
- Understanding of Hazards associated with the application/removal of aircraft paint finishes as well as associated PPE
- Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course
- desirable.
- An excellent capability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining operational outputs.
