Assistant Accountant
Coatbridge, Lanarkshire
£30k per annum. Plus, Pension, BUPA Medical Cash Plan, Life Assurance, 31 Days’ Holiday (rising with service)

Due to ongoing business expansion across the EU, we are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team in Coatbridge.

Olleco is on a mission to help protect the planet, working together with thousands of foodservice businesses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by hundreds and thousands of tonnes. We are now looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team and help us to continue to do things the right way for customers, colleagues and the planet.

With over 1,000 colleagues in multiple sites nationwide delivering excellent performance, we supply premium cooking oils and collect organic waste, which is then converted into bio-methane, electricity, heat and organic fertiliser. We offer the human touch with local, community-based depots which seek to give back to those communities every chance we get.

As part of our EU Finance team, you will be a fundamental part of our team, enabling us to continue with our mission to serve the planet, a purpose we care strongly about and are committed to.

A little bit more about the role:

- You will work as part of the EU finance team to prepare weekly and monthly management accounts
- You will be responsible for managing the Sales and Purchase ledger; cashbook transactions, query resolution, preparation and review of reconciliations
- Provide business support, ensuring deadlines and timescales are met
- You will ensure all finance processes comply with fiscal, legal and group control and compliance frameworks

Interested?

What are we looking for?

- Working towards ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification
- Previous experience within a similar role
- Excellent IT skills including MS Excel
- Great communications skills/ability to relay key information to colleagues and internal/ external customers
