Job description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one our key clients who are a well known for network operator for electricity. They manage a number of licensed distribution networks which covers London, East/South East of England.
Job Description:
This Intermediate/Project Quantity Surveyor will report to the Regional Commercial Manager and will work within Capital Programme and Procurement based in the West Sussex area.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
• Support the commercial team
• Carry out the following under supervision:
- Prepare tenders – measure, put into packages, analyse
- Prepare variations/valuations
- Prepare Final Accounts
- Prepare s/c valuations
- Attend site client meetings
- Prepare client quotations/Estimates
- Liaise with site management
Take responsibility for:
- Maintaining site records, control documents
- Measuring progress on site
- Consider Risk & opportunity
Requirements
- Ability to effectively utilise a range of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel
- Able to manipulate, manage/interrogate data
- Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement
- Demonstrate good working knowledge of NEC3 contracts
- Demonstrate ownership/commercial awareness
- Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Previously worked on Power/Electricity projects
- Backgrounds from Civils/Highways will also be accepted
Required Qualifications/Training
- Completed a qualification in Quantity Surveying (HND/HNC Upwards)
- Preferable to be studying towards Chartership
