Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of SEND children? We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school in Bury St Edmunds.
Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Primary school in Bury St Edmunds.
About the Role: As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of SEND children throughout the primary school. Your responsibilities will include providing one-on-one support to SEND children, both in the classroom and during individual sessions, to ensure they receive the assistance they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide tailored support to SEND children, assisting them with classroom activities and educational tasks.
- Foster positive relationships with SEND children, promoting inclusivity and a supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement individualized learning plans and interventions for SEND children.
- Support the social and emotional well-being of SEND children, helping them to develop confidence and self-esteem.
- Assist with the implementation of sensory and behavioral strategies to support SEND children throughout the school day.
- Communicate effectively with parents and external agencies to ensure continuity of care and support for SEND children.
Requirements: - Previous experience working with SEND children in a school setting is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of SEND children.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support or education (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, with a proactive and positive attitude.
