Job description

We are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join a large primary school in Camden to support pupil in year 3 with a range of special educational needs.

The Role

In this role you will be the 1 to 1 Learning Support Assistant for a pupil in year 3 who is joining the school in January. The child has an EHCP and requires support to access learning and integrate within daily school activities. She is working at the expected standard at the end of year 2 with additional support with adult support and encouragement. She is able to follow simple instructions and is developing her understanding to shift between activities but will require support on this. Whilst she finds it difficult to express herself verbally, she uses physical cues and will benefit from support to develop her language and communication.

You will work closely with the class teacher, the inclusion manager and with wider support teams to ensure the child is full supported whilst at school. You will be included in support review meetings and have daily contact with the parents to provide feedback. You will be provided with training and support from the school's SEND coordinator.

To apply for this Learning Support Assistant role you must have experience working with children with special educational needs and experience working in a school setting.

This role is offered on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year.

The School

This large, 3 form-entry school is rated Outstanding by Ofsted and is situated in the borough of Camden over two sites and is easily accessible via public transport. There is a lovely, welcoming staff team in place and the school is popular within the local community. Pupils at the school come from a range of backgrounds and diversity is celebrated and encouraged.
