Job Description



Sopra Banking Software are looking for a Senior DevOps Architect whose role will be to build an end-to-end DevOps solution for delivering infrastructure and applications into production environments.

This will be a senior role within core engineering leading cross-functional teams through a transition to DevOps and CI/CD focussed on delivering infrastructure and deploying products at scale.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams across the organisation to understand the business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that can be operated at scale. You will also promote the DevOps culture across the teams for them to consider the production characteristics when delivering the products.

Responsibilities

As a Senior DevOps Architect, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Guide a team of Architects aligned to delivering infrastructure and products into a production environment.

• Ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across the full DevOps chain from R&D to SRE.

• Design, architect, and implement secure and scalable infrastructure solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements from SRE and business use cases and translate them into technical solutions that we can operate at scale.

• Develop architecture blueprints, technical specifications, and system documentation.

• Evaluate and recommend appropriate cloud services and features based on business requirements and in collaboration with SRE teams.

• Ensure the security, availability, performance and TCO optimisation of infrastructure solutions.

• Implement & advise on best practices for cloud infrastructure deployment automation, monitoring, and optimisation.

• Stay up to date with the latest cloud services and features and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications



To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

• Experience in leading a technical team to deliver to deadline and budget.

• Experience in either a SaaS native software editor, or a software editor who has conducted a successful go to cloud journey.

• Extensive experience in Technical Infrastructure and application deployment with a strong focus on AWS, and Kubernetes technologies and CI/CD pipelines.

• In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, and IAM.

• Knowledge of equivalent services across multiple cloud providers.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing highly available, fault-tolerant, cost efficient and scalable architectures on AWS.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, infrastructure, and application deployment automation with infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform and automation tools such as Ansible and Helm.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.

• AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent, are a plus, but not essential.
