Job Overview
We are looking for an exceptionally dedicated and well organised Art Manager to assist in the creation of the next big free-to-play title from Wargaming.
The candidate will have to be a hardworking self-motivated team player who is able to work closely with the Art Director, Art Leads and Product Director to create and be responsible for delivery of art for the game.
They will need to possess excellent verbal and written skills and be able to both take critique and give feedback to external partners as well as fully in participating group discussions.
Reports to
- The Art Manager will report to the Development Director
- The Art Discipline Leads will report to the Art Manager
What will you do?
- Devise the strategic plan for the delivery of artwork cross multiple art disciplines.
- Supervise the Art Team in the delivery of their work.
- Work in close collaboration with the Art Director to ensure quality standards are developed and maintained.
- Develop art production pipeline and tech in conjunction with Art Leads to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Develop and implement OS Art Vendor strategy and plan within the Art Team
- Ensure effective organisation and delivery of asset traffic between the internal and external teams.
- Support Art Team Leads in their career development and the development of the teams.
- Act as a key contact for inter-disciplinary dependencies
- Monitor regular progress of the Art Team against the high-level plan reporting issues and highlighting risks.
- Manage off-site development partners.
What are we looking for?
- Proven art production experience within the game industry, as a Lead Artist or Art Manager
- At least 2 published games as a Lead Artist or Art Manager
- Strong organisational skills
- Demonstrable experience of production planning techniques both agile and predictive
- Experience in supervising Art OS production pipelines
- Strong understanding of the material required to support large scale cross site art production.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Be able to take critique and give feedback internally and externally in a professional manner.
- Diligent self-management around both individual and team tasks, schedule, and budgets
- An existing network of off-site development partners and art vendors
What additional skills will help you stand out?
- A relevant qualification or experience of in 3d game art production
- Familiarity with planning software - Excel, JIRA, and MS Project
