Job Title: Personal Assistant to T/Deputy Assistant Commissioner
Salary: The starting salary is £37,289, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.
The salary is broken down as £34,448 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £36,864 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location : New Scotland Yard, Westminster.
The Metropolitan Police are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and organised individual to join the Private Office of a T/Deputy Assistant Commissioner within Professionalism
Description
The role holder will provide comprehensive, confidential, and professional support service in all aspects concerned with the efficient and successful operation of a Private Office and wider organisation.
The PA role is âfront of houseâ role and often the initial contact point along with other members of the Private Office. Across all groups the contact is made face-to-face, through email and telephone. The stakeholders include:
- DACs, Commanders and Directors
- Met Executive including Management Board; daily contact, the purpose of which ranges from coordinating of Directorate objectives and priorities in support of business group risks/delivery, diary management and event planning.
- Responding to high-risk queries, complaints and managing expectations.
- Directorate SLT (Senior Leadership Team); daily, enabling delivery of their functionâs priorities.
- Other Private Offices; enabling link up between work/actions across directorates.

What do we expect of you?
Knowledge
- Manage electronic diaries, organising meetings and events on behalf of DAC Professionalism with a wide range of internal and external contacts, prioritising a busy diary and varied venues, both internal and external
- Preparation of meetings and travel itineraries
- Arranging logistics with internal and external stakeholders, such as booking meeting rooms, travel, visitor passes and escorting visitors.
- Produce minutes in high profile and confidential meetings
- Creating agendas for meetings and following up on actions and effective tracking of tasks/issues.
- Managing databases and filing storage systems of all documentation and papers.
- Undertake research for projects/briefing papers, collating information from a range of sources to produce draft responses.
- Monitor and input into calendar NPCC On Call rota for DAC
- Support principles with administration for National Portfolio as required
- Provide cover and resilience for the other Private Office PA
Experience
- Experience providing designated support at a senior level.
- Experience managing/prioritising workload effectively, to co-ordinate activities and conflicting demands to ensure tight deadlines are met.
- Experience using own initiative, be proactive and deal with specific queries as they arise.
- Experience ensuring attention to detail and gathering, analysing, tracking, and collating complex and confidential information.
- Experience drafting responses to queries.
Skills
- Organisation, diary management and planning skills.
- Communication skills, with the ability to work well with range of people at all levels, stakeholder management (internal and external).
- Technology literate skills, with extensive demonstrable experience of Office software packages (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams).
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Time management and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure
Desirable Criteria:
- Understanding of the current Met challenges and future direction (New Met for London).
