Job description
We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team in our Preston office. This is a permanent position, the salary is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. In addition to the salary we offer 25 days leave, pension plan, life assurance and optional health care plus a host of other staff benefits.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be primarily responsible for directing and managing the full project life cycle, including timescale, budget and ensuring technical performance. You will be responsible for the delivery of the defined work packages to the client and providing effective management to teams.

- Developing strategies and directing teams ensuring that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off.
- Strong Commercial control of Projects with frequent review cycles – reporting, budget, performance and staff matters
- Commercial reviews to ensure tight control of programme
- Resource meetings to ensure correct mix of resource applied on task
- Management meetings with Team Leads/Management team
- Liaison with customer to include
- Staff requirements – Quantity, capability standards and future planning.
- Budget – Spend/Invoice
- Customer/Expleo collaborations
- Resolution of issues – Timescale, Budget and tech performance.
- Supporting customer through offload process where required – SoW, TDS, resource requirements.
- Line management responsibilities – Holidays, sickness, PDR, capability, issues, training and development.
- Escalation of project issues.
- Risk management – Identification and mitigation.
- Management of delivery and scope creep.
- Liaison with sub-contractors.
- Business development.
- Proposal preparation – Write proposals, Purchase Orders and Contract Variations in conformance with internal processes.
- Liaising with Engineering Technical lead – utilising Team Leads and Chief Engineer path.
- Adherence to all QMS, BP, CWIs and LWIs.
- Liaise with internal departments.

- Produce KPI for internal and external use including customer governance.
- Initiate Customer Satisfaction (C-Sat) report.
- Investigate C-Sat returns and action as required.
- Manage project tracking
- Review and approve timesheets – projects, sickness, holidays and training.
- Project and quotation creation.
- Invoicing – Detail, accuracy and payment.
- Identify and collate Lessons Learnt.
- New starter induction – new starter checklist, account logins.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Additional Project Management certification highly desired
- Proficient with project management tools and frameworks required to deliver
- Project management lifecycle and experience with all stages of the product development lifecycle (concept to launch)
- Prior budget management experience
- Strong commercial acumen is essential
- Applying problem-solving methodologies and tools to diagnose and solve operational and interpersonal problems
- Providing technical guidance to enable others and solving technical queries from junior colleagues
- Using project management tools, tracking plans and actual statistics from inception through to implementation
- Proficient MS Excel, power-point and word skills
- Excellent client-facing skills
- People management skills - introducing and building ways in which people can learn from each other, encouraging mentoring and the transfer of knowledge by designing and delivering learning interventions
