Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and confident Head Veterinary Nurse to join their dynamic team at their practice in Derby. Located conveniently near the M1 and with a direct train connection to London, this practice enjoys the added benefit of being nestled amidst the scenic Peak District National Park.

As a Head Veterinary Nurse, your day-to-day duties will encompass a diverse range of nursing and surgical tasks. These include inpatient care, nurse consultations, and monitoring anaesthesia (experience as a clinical coach would be desirable). Our client is looking for someone dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, fostering a collaborative team spirit, driving service growth, and ensuring the well-being of patients.

This well-established practice offers an extensive range of veterinary services, including specialised orthopaedic care. It boasts modern facilities, including an x-ray and ultrasound room, a spacious theatre, preparation area, and an in-house laboratory for swift diagnostics. The practice also features four consultation rooms and dedicated spaces such as a separate cattery, kennel, and isolation wards.

You will be joining an exceptional team consisting of 1.5 locum Vets, 3 SVNs, and 5 dedicated receptionists. The team is characterised by its enthusiasm, supportiveness, and unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest levels of patient care. Our client is proud to be associated with Cats Protection, StreetVet, and actively participates in donating unused pet food.

The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience in a first-opinion small animal practice and must be a qualified and Registered Veterinary Nurse. It is essential to hold the right to work in the UK. They are looking for individuals with a strong desire to deliver outstanding clinical services to all patients. A friendly and approachable attitude, along with the ability to work effectively within a team and independently, is crucial. While previous management experience is ideal, it is not essential, as training and support can be provided.

The Role:
• Full Time role - Part time applications will be accepted
• 40 hour week over 4/5 days
• Combination of early (8am - 4.30pm) and late (10am - 6.30pm) shifts
• 1:4 Saturday mornings (9am - 12.30pm)
• No OOH
