Job Description:
The post holder will provide high quality care and interventions to children and young people in a variety of settings including residential homes, emergency accommodation, family home and foster placements, which will contribute to the protection, safeguarding and promotion of the education, health and well-being of children and young people.
This role is specifically to work within our emergency response team; therefore the post holder will need to work in a flexible way, which will include working across services, often supporting children in crisis.

Knowledge and Experience:
• Experience in the engagement of adults/and/or children/families (some of whom are resistant to engage), with detailed knowledge of what works to effect positive change.
• Experience of working within the community and familiar with multi agency working.
• Experience and understanding of the key worker role.
• Experience of understanding the needs of clients with a range of sensitive and personal care issues i.e. mental health problems, dementia, depression, challenging behaviours etc.
• Working knowledge of care planning issues and following therapy plans.
• Acting as an advocate, promoting self advocacy and a commitment to upholding service users rights.
• Working within an organisation’s policies and procedures.
• Completing relevant records and reports both in written and electronic format.
• Appropriate/sufficient experience of and familiar with multi agency working.
• Practical knowledge of health and safety issues.
• Awareness of medicines, their potential dangers and medical and nursing services available.
• Undertaking needs assessments and devising care packages and support plans.
• Experience of caseload management in order to optimise individual performance.
• Using a range of computer applications and ICT including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, internet and e-mail.
Qualifications:
Level 6 qualification e.g. Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates and Diplomas, or Level 5 qualification e.g. Diplomas of HE and FE, foundation degrees and HNDs, plus experience in relevant areas of work over a period of years.
OR
Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience.
