Job Title: Systems Engineer

Location: Ashford, Kent

Salary: £50,000 - £56,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

Hours of Work: Day Shift, Monday - Friday

Contracted Hours: 37.5hrs per week

About the Role

In this role your main responsibility will be to develop, support and maintain control systems, SCADA systems and MES systems. You will also be able to support the manufacturing operations on a day-to-day basis, along with being able time implement new systems from scratch

What we need from you:

The ideal candidate for the role will be able to demonstrate that they can:

• Create, modify, debug and maintain PLC software, and understand the various communication networks used.
• Create, modify, debug and maintain HMI/SCADA software to include our current Olympus control system.
• Be able to work efficiently with the Python programming language
• Be able to work efficiently with SQL databases.
• Work/learn Ignition Automation SCADA package
• Understand network concepts both at an IT level and an OT level
• Assist in the design, have hands on involvement with and direct personnel in fabrication of control apparatus and equipment.
• Determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products such as transformers, control devices, motors, conveyor belts, and relays.
• Carry out systems maintenance, scheduling and planning
• Actively participate in planned maintenance activities, completing tasks as allocated.
• Ensure the relevant stakeholders and departments are kept up-dated through effective communication on latest developments / situations and any other relevant information on a regular basis
• Identify opportunities for cost-savings based on process capability and operational efficiency
• Work with project management to create resource schedules for assignments.
• Have an Approved Electrical/Multiskilled/Automation Engineering Apprenticeship (City & Guilds and National Certificate)
