Job description
This post will support the workforce across an agreed geographical or specialist area supporting the teaching of learners pre and post registration. This is an exciting pilot which would see Social Workers spending a legacy period, supervising, supporting, and handing over their career insights to students, following significant experiences in social care. The role will be supporting students in Community Mental Health/Community Forensic Mental Health settings using a model that helps students on placement and newly qualified social workers to develop their skills, knowledge and capability and strengthen their professional confidence. The role of the Legacy Practitioners also ensures collaboration with Education Leads and Universities across Mid & South Essex partnership, including Think Ahead partners, to increase placement capacity across health and social care. The role provides an opportunity to transfer skills and expertise to others and inspire the next generation of social workers. The successful pilot of this role will support the ambition that this post can become a dedicated role within organisations so that experienced social workers have the opportunity to feel a sense of achievement with imparting their skills & knowledge to others. The role will require a degree of flexibility and creativity and the postholder will be required to occasionally work from home using technology.
